About Dr.

Dr. Alicia M. Avery is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Mental Health Service Provider (LPC/MHSP) with over 20 years of experience in social services and mental health. She holds a Doctor of Education in Counselor Education & Supervision from Argosy University, and dual Master of Science degrees in Psychology and Professional Counseling from Lipscomb University.

Dr. Avery currently serves as Chief Program Officer with oversight of the following programs:

  • Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR)
  • Intensive Outpatient / Outpatient (IOP/OP)
  • Homeless Outreach/SOAR
  • Peer Wellness
  • First Episodes (FEPI)
  • Supported Employment
  • Supported Housing

Prior to Park Center, Dr. Avery served as Clinical Director for the Family & Children’s Services Counseling program, overseeing clinical operations across 26 counties. In addition, Dr. Avery is also the proud Founder and CEO of Itavia’s House of Care, LLC (IHOC), a person-centered agency dedicated to providing holistic care through CLS supported housing and community-based services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Dr. Avery also maintains a private practice where she specializes in trauma recovery, general mental health, and sexuality. Committed to the advancement of the counseling profession, Dr. Avery provides clinical supervision and mentorship to post-graduate professionals pursuing LPC/MHSP licensure.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr. Avery finds joy and fulfillment in writing and in her role as a devoted wife, mother to six, and proud grandmother of eight, cherishing the love and legacy she continues to build.
