Eric is attending training to become a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS). A Certified Peer Recovery Specialist is someone who has lived experience with mental illness and/or substance use and uses their experience to help others with their recovery. Eric has completed the application and has attended training independently, all while working a part- time job that is helping him to "get back used to working on a regular basis." Eric plans to begin working on his 70 volunteer hours needed to complete his CPRS certification immediately after he completes his training. Eric is hoping to work in the mental health arena offering groups. Eric is also an artist and would especially like to offer art groups.
Eric is pictured sharing his personal story of recovery with guests at Park Center's 2016 Celebration of Courage Breakfast.
