Nashville, TN – Park Center, Inc., a non-profit mental health organization, is pleased to announce the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony of its newest supportive housing units in East Nashville. The event will take place on April 22, 2024, from 11 am to 12 pm, at 903 Fairwin Avenue, Nashville, TN, 37206 (Please park at the City Gear lot located at 2625 Gallatin Pike. A shuttle will be provided to bring you to our property on Fairwin Ave., about 2 miles away. Please arrive by 10:30 am if possible, to allow time to catch the shuttle). Mayor Freddie O’Connell is scheduled to speak during the ceremony that will begin at 11:15 am followed by the Ribbon Cutting at 11:45 am.

The Fairwin Avenue property was redeveloped with the generous financial support of Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) and Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati. This support has allowed Park Center to increase its capacity from 3 to 8 individuals. Residents will participate in services offered by Park Center’s Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) program.  PSH combines affordable rental units with services designed to help residents remain housed after a history of eviction, hospitalization, incarceration, and homelessness. Once in housing, residents build on a foundation of safety and self-determination to access healthcare, and employment and build social connections through community involvement.

“We need to create housing solutions that are affordable and provide supportive services that keep people in stable housing. These types of services have proven effective at decreasing chronic homelessness and improving health outcomes,” said Amanda Bracht, Park Center CEO.

Park Center is the largest provider of affordable housing for people living with mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders in Nashville. In addition to housing services, Park Center provides psychosocial rehabilitation services, substance use disorder treatment, homeless outreach, and specialized employment services.
